Safety and Security Information: Read the Travel Advisory and Alerts for the countries you will be visiting at travel.state.gov/destination. Review entry/exit requirements, visas, local laws, customs, medical care, road safety, etc. Write down contact details for the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to carry with you in case of emergency while traveling.
Crisis Planning: Read Crisis Abroad: Be Ready and make an evacuation plan that does not rely on the U.S. government. Consider buying emergency evacuation insurance. If a crisis occurs while you are abroad, check in with loved ones and update your social media status so family and friends know you are okay.
Many times you may hear your Travel Agent ask you:
Would you like to add Travel Protection to your trip? or they may say - I have added Travel Protection to your trip.
And so many times Travel Agents will hear: No, I don't need, I don't want or I never needed so why should I need it now?
Well, so many times no one hears or sees what Travel Agents hear or see.
A family has everything ready. Mom and dad paid thousands for this dream vacation and they're ready to go. Suddenly someone falls sick and is no longer able to go on that dream vacation. And that someone is a child. Now mom, dad and the other siblings will not go on that dreamed vacation. Now what? Now they have lost all the money they have invested in their dreamed vacation, and it went from becoming a reality to continue being a dream.
These are just a few examples of what can happen in just the blink of an eye:
-A child falls sick
-Dad loses his job
-A death in the family
-Food poisoning either before or during a trip
-You're having fun on your trip and you're called back home because of an emergency with a dear loved one
-The company you're flying or cruising with shuts down
When you travel, things happen. They just do.
You do want to protect your vacation investment just as you protect your own home with Home Owners Insurance.
THINK SMART, THINK WISE, THINK TRAVEL PROTECTION
